Field, Combat and Fatigue Dress

Soldiers in combat uniform (DPM) on patrol and camouflage face paint is worn.This dress is worn by all ranks of the NZ Army and New Zealand Defence Force for most forms of training and on operations. The shirt and trousers are Disruptive Pattern Material (commonly known as DPM) for camouflage.



EOD (Explosive Ordinance Device) Team Leader, SSgt Denis Wanihi described the demolition as definitely the largest he has ever conducted. SSgt Wanihi was born in Waverly and brought up in Patea. He is posted to Burnham.
Medals or coloured badges are not worn with this uniform as its main purpose is camouflage.

Although in this instance sleeves are rolled up, when this combat uniform is worn on patrol sleeves are rolled down, and camouflage face paint is worn. Rank badges are still worn on the shoulders.
