The Leica Vector IV is a full binocular laser range finder that incorporates an eye safe laser range finder and an electronic compass, and is used to accurately determine positional information regarding an enemy target or feature.
The LRF GS is a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), hand held, pair of 7 x 42 binoculars combined with a Class 1 eyesafe laser rangefinder (LRF). An in-built compass, inclinometer and on-board processing allows the observer to display information such as: slope distance, inclination and compass bearing to a target; height of target; and horizontal and vertical distance between targets.
An external port allows connection to a PLGR Global Positioning System (GPS) system. When connected to a GPS the LRF GS can establish the grid reference of a distant target.
It is accurate out to a maximum range of 4km, weighs 1.71kg and has dimensions of 205 x 178 x 82 mm
