Re-Enlistment Opportunities
We currently have vacancies in many different trades at most rank levels. However, at the moment we are particularly interested in hearing from Ammunition Technicians, Electronic Technicians, Armourers, and S.A.S, all around the rank of Corporal.
Please be aware that we assess re-enlistment applications on a case by case basis, measuring against our current vacancies. Some trades and ranks are higher priority than others due to shortages. Although we will have a look at all applications, our current priorities are at the rank level of Lance Corporal – Sergeant, and Lieutenant – Captain.
To find out if we have a position available for you, please contact your nearest recruiting office for more information, or apply online and we will be in touch.
Re-Enlistment Process
- Applicant applies to join at www.army.mil.nz
- Application is sent automatically to our re-enlistment & overseas applicant team. This team will be the point of contact for the applicant throughout the whole process.
- Applicant’s previous service record (UPF) is recovered & checked.
- Our Military Career Management team and our Military Secretary team will decide if we have any suitable vacancies to suit skills and experience.
- At this stage some applicants may be told that we do not currently have a suitable vacancy, and will be asked to apply again in the future.
- The re-enlistment & overseas recruitment team arranges for medical files to be checked & a basic medical test to be conducted at the NZ Army’s expense. Further testing, at the applicant’s expense, may be required as all re-enlistments need to show that they are deployable.
- Police check is conducted.
- At this stage an interview may be required.
- Required Fitness Level testing is conducted.
- If the medical and police checks have been cleared successfully, and an RFL pass has been achieved, then applicant is given offer of service & is enlisted at a mutually agreed upon time thereafter.
