We also employ a number of civilians in a range of positions throughout the country.

Jobs in the Regular Force and Army Reserve

Careers in the New Zealand Army - Medical Officer (AW-09-1110-12).

The Regular Force is the full-time component of the New Zealand Army, while the Army Reserve is the part-time component. Both include Officers and Soldiers.

Officers are leaders, managers and strategists. Their decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities enable them to plan and execute tasks in wide-ranging conditions. It is their job to earn trust and respect, and to display the strength of character - or mana - to inspire their soldiers.

Being a soldier is about trust, teamwork, leadership, professionalism, discipline and honour. You're trained as a soldier AND you're trained in a trade, so you can expect a lot of variety in your career. Soldiers help local communities, assist in peacekeeping duties and provide humanitarian aid, at home and overseas. In this career you're guaranteed to find yourself in a range of challenging and demanding situations.
