Leaders Required. Become an Officer.

Leaders required (AW-10-0505-6).

Right now we're recruiting for people to lead our world class team. First and foremost, officers are leaders. Managers. Strategists. Their decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities enable them to plan and execute tasks in wide-ranging conditions. It is their job to earn trust and respect, and to display the strength of character - or mana - to inspire their soldiers.

The role comes with very real physical and mental challenges. However, it is said that there can be no greater career than serving your country as an officer.

We're recruiting for general list officers and also for a range of specialist roles including dental officers, medical officers, medical officer cadets and nursing officers and There are options for joining part time or full time.

Whatever your speciality, there are three key qualities essential to strong performance as an officer:

  1. Leadership: to succeed, you'll need to have the respect and trust of the people under your command. Maybe you've already demonstrated a flair for taking control and gaining the trust of others, perhaps as dux at school, sports team captain or president of a club or society.
  2. Academic Skills: the intellectual demand on officers is considerable. You must have the ability to pursue tertiary qualifications and to think your way through complex situations and problems.
  3. Fitness: a high standard of physical fitness is essential. Your job will involve a lot of outdoor work and it is vital for you and those under your command that you can make clear judgements under wide-ranging physical conditions.

The focus of training at the Officer Cadet School is to help you get what it takes. But the first step is to attend an officer selection board.
