Defence Force teams in lake cycle challenge

Navy, Army and Air Force personnel will be out and around Lake Taupo on bicycles this weekend for the 33rd Annual Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge.

Service personnel will compete against other racers as well as rival Defence single services, battling for the service champion title.

The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) works closely with Rotary in the coordination of the Cycle challenge, providing logistical assistance as well as first aid and medical support.

As well as competing in the Cycle Challenge the NZDF will be supporting the charity, Heart Children. The Royal New Zealand Air Force Red Checkers will perform an aerobatic display on Saturday 5.45pm.

What:  Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge
When: Friday 27 November - Sunday 29 November
