Cambridge Armistice Event

NZDF Recruitment agencies will support this years Cambridge Armistice Event during the period 9 - 11 November, 2007 at Memorial Park, Cambridge. The Cambridge Armistice Committee noted the growing interest in this annual event and identified opportunities for NZDF recruitment. Traditionally, Territorial Force personnel from 6 Hauraki Regiment comprised most of the military support, contributions that were well respected by the Cambridge armistice Committee. Numerous organisations have since registered as participants in this years event and early indications suggest that this will be the largest Armistice Event in New Zealand.
The main service will be held on Sunday 11 November at 1100hrs and will involve guest from major military and civilian organisations. The main recruiting activities will be conducted on Friday 9 November, where all 3 armed services will present the many career opportunities within the NZDF. Trade and technical specialists, apprentice trades people and combatants will be in attendance demonstrating some of their skills. During the day there will be several challenges in which participants may win prizes. Key pieces of equipment include a light armoured vehicle, a UH1H helicopter and numerous specialist tools employed by service personnel world wide.
NZDF will also contribute displays from the army and navy museum. The event is expected to attract over 12000 people, with an estimated 2000 students expected to attend the military careers day.
