Relationship Between Massey University and The New Zealand Army
Defence and Strategic Studies is taught by the Centre for Defence Studies, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Massey University, in partnership with the Military Studies Institute of the New Zealand Army.
The Military Studies Institute was established in 1993 with a view to improving educational opportunities available to Army personnel and now provides educational services to civilian New Zealand Defence Force employees and members of the Territorial Force.
The Military Studies Institute has particular expertise in teaching and research activities associated with:
- Military History
- Strategic Studies
- Defence Policy
- Military Leadership
Additionally, the Institute plays a valuable role in promoting discussion on defence issues within the wider community.
