Shuttle Bus Timetable

1 RNZIR Header

Whilst every endeavour has been made to provide transportation, unfortunately 1 RNZIR cannot guarantee that all guests will be catered for. Therefore please note the following.

NOTE: Please do not wait until the last bus to make your way to Linton Camp. If you wait until the last moment you may not be able to use the bus shuttle service. If the buses are full you may have to use your own transport or a taxi.  Whilst our planning should cater for all guests, there is no guarantee of a seat on the bus if you are not stood to in the Forming Up Point prior to H-Hour.  Buses will be clearly marked with 1 RNZIR insignia.

For guests who use the early buses, this will give you an excellent opportunity to view the Battalions Lines and History Room. There will be a very extensive range of Battalion history and archival material available for viewing. Tea and Coffee will also be available. Bottom Line: Get in early and avoid the rush or being disappointed.

Buses will depart Palmerston North from the following locations:

RSA: Broadway Ave side of RSA
Square: Information Centre opposite High Flyers Tavern
Fitzherbert St.:Bus stop outside the Caltex Station (corner of Fitzherbert and College Street), and the Bus stop opposite the BP Station (corner of Fitzherbert and Te Awe Awe Street)

At the conclusion of the open day guests are requested to depart Linton Camp so that the Battalion can secure its equipment and prepare for the parade. This will also give guests an opportunity to return to their accommodation and prepare for the nights activities. Buses will depart Linton Camp regularly from 1300-1405 to return guests to Palmerston North. The detailed bus timetable for this will be advised during the open day.

Buses will then run from Palmerston North over the time 1445-1550 to return guests to Linton Camp for the Parade and Function. Again the detailed bus timetable for this will be advised during the open day.

Buses to return guests from the function will commence at 2100 and run throughout the night. The detailed bus timetable for this will be prominently displayed at the function.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU DISPLAY YOUR TICKET TO BOARD THE BUS. ALSO A GOLD COIN DONATION IS REQUESTED FOR EACH BUS TRIP TO ASSIST WITH THE COST OF THE BUS SERVICE
